Designed for Everyday Flexibility
There are many apartments for rent in Moka. Our first challenge was simple: why would people choose one of these?
Located in Telfair Views, at the heart of one of Mauritius’ most thoughtfully planned smart city centres, these apartments were designed for everyday living. The focus was on making compact spaces feel practical, flexible and welcoming.
One of the key ideas was modularity, especially in the bedrooms. Each apartment can adapt to different occupants, from one person to a small family, simply by rearranging the beds to create either a children’s twin room or an adult double bedroom. Each second room also includes two work desks, chairs and integrated shelving, allowing it to function as both a bedroom and a useful work or study area.
For the materials, colours and equipment, we kept the approach simple, neutral and easy to maintain. This gives the apartments a clean, durable foundation while allowing each occupant to bring in their own personality through furniture, objects and decor.
